Scenario Films Ltd is proud to announce a pioneering fundraise with the launch of crowdfunding website Crowd for Angels.
As one of its pilot projects Crowd for Angels will feature Scenario’s new drama series ‘The Mughals’, a high-end, prime-time entertainment for world television with an international star cast.
‘The Mughals’ will be developed and produced by a Single Purpose Vehicle ‘Mughals the Series Ltd’, in which investors are invited to purchase shares through Crowd for Angels.
‘Mughals the Series Ltd’ is seeking to raise an initial development fund through Crowd for Angels under the Seed Enterprise Investment Scheme (SEIS) where Investors can receive up to 50% tax relief.
Once the Development Package is nearing completion, a second share issue will be offered to raise the balance of the production budget, most of which is expected to come from broadcasters and multimedia pre-sales.
Devised by Scenario’s Gareth Jones from a proposal by actress Mamta Kaash, who also produces, ‘The Mughals’ is a three-season series of ten one-hour episodes (3x10x60mins) recreating for a modern audience the most vibrant ruling dynasty the world has known, along with the flowering of Indian history and Islamic culture in a period of exceptional vigour and expansion which prefigures the present emergence of India on the world stage.
With its feature films ‘Desire’ (2009) and Delight (2013) Scenario set a new benchmark for a vibrant British cinema. Resuming his long-standing interest in cross-cultural story-telling, Jones again teams up with Kaash, award-winning star of his BBC Series ‘Shalom Salaam’, and returns to the Indian home of his youth with a proven track record in delivering ambitious production values at affordable costs.
