2.00 pm Screening – The World Before Her, introduction and Q&A with Director Nisha Pahuja
The World Before Her is widely considered the most powerful and most important film about India in decades, Nisha Pahuja’s skillfully made documentary explores the country’s great dichotomies – the gulf between the rich and the poor and the decades-long conflict between religion and secularism, following the lives and fortunes of two young women from opposing ends of the socio-cultural spectrum. Followed by a short Q&A with Nisha Pahuja conducted by Aditi Khanna, President of the Indian Journalist Association.
4.00 pm Women in Media Panel Discussion British Media & The Asian Women’s contribution dicussion chaired by Baroness Shreela Flather , the first Asian women to receive a peerage; panellists include Shyama Perera – presenter and newscaster, Mamta Kash – actress and producer and Scenario Films producer Fiona Howe.
6-7.30pm Directors Masterclass with Farah Khan – With record breaking box office returns, director Farah Khan has shaken the Indian film industry that is dominated by male film makers. In this exclusive director’s master class, Farah Khan reveals her approach to film, sharing her vision and technique to tell her stories to mainstream audiences worldwide. The director’s master class is hosted by The Mughals producer Gareth Jones.
